Workshop Description

MediCupping Two-Day

16 CEUs (NCBTMB)

This workshop reviews the history of vacuum therapies, applications and contraindications, and all of the foundation movements and techniques. A demonstration will illustrate the immediate treatment applications, as well as the invaluable information that the body reveals through the lens of the cup. This presentation will explain the effects of VacuTherapies on the body and how these effects can result in dramatic changes in client conditions. As an adjunct therapy to chiropractic manipulation, medical protocols and surgical recovery, MediCupping therapy accelerates patient progress. This leads to happier clients and increased referrals from medical professionals!

One of the most amazing aspects of this technique is the “separation” that the vacuum produces in tissue layers. This enables water absorption and renewed blood flow to undernourished and dehydrated tissue as well as the elimination of old waste and congestion. The results are truly incredible.

Along with the substantial health benefits of clearing old debris, the use of suction is invaluable in releasing soft tissue, scars and restricted fascia. Sports professionals are benefiting from the ease of recovery from injury or surgery and an increase in athletic performance, and major league sports teams are utilizing the therapy.

This class will leave you asking … “Why didn’t someone show me this before?”

About the Educator

Julie Alexander - ACE Educator
Julie Alexander

Julie Alexander has been a massage therapist for fifteen years. She has extensive experience in results-driven therapeutic massage solutions and is committed to helping clients maintain a pain-free life. She enjoys learning and takes 30+ hours of continuing education per year – 5x the average in her field – so she can provide up-to-date and efficient evidence-based care.

After attending high school at the Indiana Academy and graduating from the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, Julie served in several marketing roles supporting small businesses.

Upon reflection, she realized her passion to help others might be better realized as a massage therapist, so Julie gained her LMT certification.

Julie’s tenure at several high-end spas in the Dallas area gave her a crash course on how to run a successful spa. In 2015, she opened her first massage business in a wellness center.  Her business, Handcrafted Therapy, grew rapidly and expanded to a new location in 2017.  She is not only fully booked out for weeks but also provides a professional day spa rental space for other therapists.

During the 2020 pandemic shutdown, Julie refocused her drive and passion to serve by providing virtual sessions for her clients on self-care.

Julie is opening a massage supply store and training center in 2023, which will include a retail line of therapeutic massage lubricants and products that she has specially formulated for LMTs.  The store will provide a special place for massage therapists to hold classes and events.

She enjoys traveling with her husband, game nights with friends, playing with her dog, pilates, and taking massage therapy classes.
