Question
Good morning I wanted to know if there any medications that are contraindicated with cupping the only meds I really had concerns with doing massage was pain medications realizing there pain tolerance is affected I had a client the other day that was concerned with cupping on blood thinner medication
Answer
Of course. In the safety and contraindications section we cover during our classes, we talk about being very cautious and gentle if people are on blood thinners.
For some clients, if the skin is too thin then it is advised to not cup at all. This would also be true of steroids.

I feel the original question was not answered. Is Massage cupping safe and appropriate for clients on blood thinners? Thank you.
Hello. I would also agree that the original question waa not answered. Id like to know also. This has come up recently as a good friend is on anticoaggulate meds due to a quadruple bypass. Thanks for your reply. Also, how soon after a quadruple bypass is it okay to medical the scar? Does the depth of incision dictate when it may be medically indicated to medicup a scar?
