Our educators offer some brief insight on the topic so that you can expand your working knowledge on this revolutionary bodywork therapy and its benefits.

Question

I can’t find a lot of information about magnetic micro cups. Their benefits seem to be the same as regular cups. Could you tell me what the main advantage is over regular cups?

Answer

The regular cups serve one function, and the magnetic micro-cups are totally different. The micro-cup is simply to keep the magnet on the site, enabling the use of both poles in unique placements to address pain, neuropathies, and even scoliosis. Many people will note that it is hard to find good references on therapeutic magnet therapies. We use information from the Dwight Kalita / William Philpott book “Magnet Therapy” in our workshops.

Regular micro-cups can glide along tissue, whereas the magnetic micro-cups would hurt quite a bit if you did that. They are great preparation for any bodywork, since they are used to assist the body with rebalancing PH of the tissue, as well as stimulating the manufacture of the body’s natural painkillers. I also use them for certain MS patients. They are really wonderful adjunct tools, but are separate from the techniques we use with the large cups. Thanks for your question!
